


CosmeCon cultivates omnichannel experiences for local and international beauty brands and fosters community conversation on wellness and empowerment. This year, in partnership with RETAILBOSS, Pacific Retail will be awarding one business with a $2,000 check and an Executive Consultation Package with Pacific Retail executives in Marketing, Leasing, and Operations to discuss launching or scaling your retail business. The grant is open to all small businesses in the beauty, wellness, and cosmetics sectors.
Najla Kayyem oversees comprehensive branding, strategic communications, repositioning, public relations, and digital marketing activities for Pacific Retail’s expanding portfolio of mixed-use properties. Kayyem has been a commercial real estate marketing executive for more than 2 decades for firms such as Related Companies, Caruso, and RED Development, and Westfield, launching some of the largest mixed-use developments in the nation including Century City, San Francisco Centre, Bondi Junction in Australia, The Grand-LA, and The Grove in Los Angeles. Najla is a member of the Urban Land Institute, International Council of Shopping Centers, and sits on the Nexus Conference planning committee. She lives in Scottsdale with her husband and her two kids.
Cynthia Czech oversees all local leasing, in-center advertising, sponsorships, brand activations, and displays across the Pacific Retail Capital Partners portfolio. Prior to joining PRCP, Cynthia oversaw the formation of business development for the newly formed Rouse Company and has held management positions at Westfield Group, Lincoln Property, and AMLI Residential. Cynthia is also currently the co-chair for Ancillary Retail and lives in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Anne Mezzenga is the Co-CEO of Omni Talk, one of the fastest-growing podcasts in retail. She and her Co-CEO, Chris Walton, provide expert commentary on the future of the retail industry and current trends. As extensions of Omni Talk, Anne founded Urban Rooster Shop, a localized e-commerce marketplace where customers can shop dozens of local Twin Cities businesses on one site, and Third Haus, a retail lab in Minneapolis. Prior to starting Omni Talk, Anne and Chris led Target Corp.’s Store of the Future project, where Anne served as Director of Marketing and Partnerships for the endeavor. In addition, Anne and her husband own and operate two boutique fitness facilities in the Twin Cities.
Liza is a retail industry expert with over 2 decades of experience in merchandising, product creation, and go to market strategy across physical, digital and omnichannel. Liza is currently the Principal at Retail Strategy Group – a consulting practice which helps companies in the retail space dramatically improve profitability and increase organizational effectiveness. She is a respected voice on topics such as responsible retail and sustainability, retail diversity and inclusion, the future of retail and the urgency of technology enablement in merchandising, assortment optimization and speed to market.
Melody Bockelman is a highly respected beauty brand expert, a business coach, and the owner of Private Label Insider. Her clients’ have been featured on Evine, QVC, HSN, Whole Foods, Target, and their products are for sale on Amazon, as well as in national retailers and niche boutiques across the country. Melody Bockelman is the go to business coach for beauty start-ups and aspiring beauty entrepreneurs to help them launch their own beauty brands – including skin care, haircare, body care, and makeup lines. She has more than 14 years’ collective experience in the private label industry and uses her knowledge and resources to help her clients succeed. She helps future entrepreneurs navigate everything from manufacturing and packaging to marketing and sales.She also offers signature classes, a monthly mastermind membership, and private coaching services.
Jeanel Alvarado, is a retail strategist with 10 years experience working in the retail industry, from consulting, to revitalization strategies to curated marketplaces and special events. Jeanel provides she is a master at marketing and branding, and has a rolodex of strategies that are able to drive traffic, sales, and conversions through a suite of services both in brick-and-mortar, and online.
